Yes, this is a real and increasingly common type of cannabis business financing deal. Manager and employee buyouts of licensed cannabis operations are something my two cannabis-specialty lenders look at, especially when the buyer has documented operating history inside the business, the seller is willing to provide a transition period, and the deal structure is clean. Can you fund a cannabis acquisition where I’m buying a competitor?

Yes.
